Automotive Shock Absorbers

RLB rod end for shock absorber

The shock absorber is mainly used to dampen the feel and shock of the road surface when the tension spring rebounds after shock absorption. When traversing rough roads, although the shock spring filters the feel of the road, the spring itself reciprocates, and the shock dampens the spring bounce. If the shock is too soft, the body will jump up and down; if the shock is too stiff, it will introduce too much resistance and prevent the spring from working properly.

In the process of reinstalling the suspension system, the hard shock absorber should be used in conjunction with the hard extension spring; the hardness of the extension spring is closely related to the weight of the car, so heavier cars generally choose the harder damper vibrator.

Vehicle performance and driving comfort are directly impacted by the shock absorbers. The components that make struts perform at optimal levels must provide a strong steel backing with sintered PTFE.

RLB rod end and spherical plain bearing for shock absorber products have:

  • Long service life

  • Superior wear resistance

  • Reduced weight and compact design

  • PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) for self-lubricating features and friction reduction

  • GE CBK - Cropped

  • RLB Radial spherical plain bearings are available with different sliding contact surface combinations, where the sliding surfaces of inner and outer rings are made from different materials.

  • Rod End for Strut and Shock Absorber

  • Rod ends are similar to spherical plain bearings (SPBs). While SPBs provide misalignment of oscillating movement in a fixed environment, rod ends can be mounted to the shock absorber as a linkage.
